What we are
Escar Nou Studio is a development studio based in Barcelona. We build custom websites, implement artificial intelligence in specific business processes, and set up data engineering and dashboards. We work in Catalan, Spanish and English, in person across Catalonia and remotely elsewhere.
The name comes from Carrer de l'Escar, in the port of Barcelona. An escar is the slipway where boats are pulled out of the water to be repaired and put back to sea. It is a fair picture of what we do.
Where we come from
More than a decade in business intelligence and full stack development, across public administration, pharmaceuticals, energy and e-commerce. Management dashboards, product adoption analytics, workforce reporting and operational systems. For confidentiality reasons we do not publish end client names.
That mix is why we do not separate the three lines. A dashboard without clean data is useless. An AI automation nobody measures cannot be judged. And a beautiful website that captures data badly leaves the business with nothing to analyse afterwards.
How we work
- A fixed price agreed before starting. If we get the estimate wrong, that is our problem and not a change request.
- The client owns everything. Code, domain and data. We do not work with anything a client cannot walk away from.
- We say no. If what you need is an off the shelf product, or if your website is already fine, we will tell you even though it means not invoicing.
- Nothing is claimed without checking it. In our audits, every finding is verified by opening the specific page cited.
- We use AI to move fast, not to think for us. It is what makes short timelines possible. Judgement and review are not delegated.
What we work with
Web development without templates or visual builders, with self hosted fonts and no unnecessary third party dependencies. Power BI and dimensional modelling on the data side. Language models from different providers depending on what the project needs, including models hosted in Europe or on the client's own infrastructure when the data is sensitive.

No. We are a small studio, and that is deliberate: the person you talk to is the person doing the work. When a project needs more hands, we say so beforehand.
